Cookies policy

1. About this policy

This policy explains how Viewst, Inc. (“Viewst,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and application, what those technologies do, and how you can control them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including recipients, international transfers, retention, deletion, and privacy rights.

This policy describes tracking technologies; it does not grant Viewst rights to reuse customer content or enroll you in AI model training. Applicable law and additional protections in signed customer agreements remain applicable.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. Cookies may help recognize a browser, maintain a session, or remember a choice. Session cookies generally expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain until their configured expiry or removal. First-party cookies are set for the website you visit; third-party cookies are associated with another provider.

Similar technologies include browser local storage, pixels, analytics scripts, and software that records events or interactions within a page. These technologies may operate without a conventional cookie. An identifier linked to a browser, device, or account may still be personal information even when it does not contain your name.

Depending on the technology and settings, information may include identifiers, IP address or derived approximate location, device and browser information, pages or features used, referral sources, timestamps, clicks, scrolling, and other interactions. Optional feedback features may collect information you choose to submit. The provider descriptions below explain the purposes.

3. Categories and choices

Strictly necessary
Purpose: Functions essential to a service you request, such as authentication, session security, and remembering privacy choices.
Your choice: Remain available as needed for those functions. They are not used to justify unrelated analytics. You can block them in your browser, but requested functions may not work.

Optional preferences
Purpose: Remember optional interface or personalization choices beyond what is necessary for a requested function.
Your choice: Off until you choose to allow the applicable category.

Analytics
Purpose: Measure traffic, navigation, feature use, and service performance to improve the website and product.
Your choice: Off until you choose to allow analytics.

Session replay and interaction analysis
Purpose: Where enabled, reconstruct interactions within monitored pages, create heatmaps, or help diagnose usability issues.
Your choice: Off until you choose to allow this purpose. The settings identify any enabled replay provider.

A category is offered only where the relevant technology is used. Optional analytics and replay are not classified as necessary merely because they help us improve the service. We do not use Facebook/Meta or LinkedIn tracking tools on our website.

4. Analytics providers

Viewst uses Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Amplitude. The specific features, pages monitored, identifiers, and durations depend on our configuration and your choices.

Google Analytics
Purpose and information: Website traffic and usage measurement, including page views, referrals, device/browser information, and interaction events. An analytics installation does not by itself mean advertising features are enabled. Google partner-site information

Hotjar
Purpose and information: User-experience analysis. Depending on enabled features, this may include heatmaps, session replay, and optional feedback or surveys. Replay reconstructs interactions within monitored pages rather than recording everything on your device. Hotjar privacy information

Amplitude
Purpose and information: Product analytics, such as feature-use events, navigation paths, and usage patterns. Events may be linked to a device or account identifier. If separately enabled, replay features also reconstruct page interactions. Amplitude privacy information

These providers receive information through the tools enabled for the relevant purpose. Masking, page exclusions, and event configuration affect what is captured; interaction data should not be assumed to be entirely anonymous. Providers may process information outside your country. Our Privacy Policy explains international processing and how to contact us about applicable safeguards.

Stripe may use technologies in payment flows for payment processing and security. Technologies necessary for a payment you request are distinct from unrelated optional measurement. Any additional optional tracking remains subject to the relevant choices.

5. Giving or refusing consent

Our approach is to ask for an affirmative choice before activating optional analytics, optional preferences, or session replay. Optional categories are off by default. Continuing to browse, scrolling, closing a notice, or accepting our general terms does not constitute consent to optional tracking.

The consent notice provides Accept optional cookies, Reject optional cookies, and Cookie Settings choices. Accepting and rejecting are available at the same level without making rejection harder. Cookie Settings lets you review and save choices by purpose; replay is described distinctly from general traffic measurement.

You can use the website and your purchased service without consenting to optional analytics or replay. Rejecting optional cookies does not disable necessary sign-in, account security, or paid features. Choosing an optional embedded feature may require technologies specifically needed for that requested function; we explain any additional optional purposes separately.

We record the choices needed to honor and demonstrate your preferences. We request a new choice when a material new purpose or recipient requires it. Cookie consent is separate from email marketing consent, subscription renewal choices, and any future voluntary AI training authorization.

6. Changing choices and browser controls

You can reopen Cookie Settings through the website footer and change or withdraw optional permissions at any time. Withdrawal is as easy as granting permission and stops new collection for the withdrawn purpose. It does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal or automatically erase all information previously collected.

Where technically within our control, withdrawal also removes or disables the relevant optional browser identifiers. Some third-party or previously stored identifiers may need to be removed through your browser. Clearing browser storage may remove your saved privacy choice; you can then choose again. Choices may need to be set separately on different browsers and devices unless we explicitly provide account-wide controls.

Most browsers let you inspect, delete, or block cookies and manage site storage. These controls are additional options, not a substitute for our consent controls. Blocking necessary cookies may affect requested functions. Private browsing does not necessarily stop all collection or remove information already held by a provider.

For help or a request concerning previously collected personal information, contact hello@viewst.com. Email marketing can be stopped through an unsubscribe link or by contacting us; email unsubscribe alone does not change your browser analytics choices.

7. Opt-out signals and regional rights

Viewst does not sell personal information for money. Some laws define sale more broadly and regulate sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising separately. Where a disclosure is covered by those definitions, the applicable opt-out rights apply even without payment.

Where required by applicable law, we treat recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as an opt-out of the processing covered by that law. Such a signal does not automatically mean all necessary service processing must stop. A specific sale or sharing opt-out is separate from a choice about optional analytics.

You may submit an applicable opt-out through the relevant website privacy controls or hello@viewst.com. We do not require account closure to exercise privacy rights. Mandatory local protections continue to apply, including rights regarding sensitive information, consent withdrawal, complaints, and appeals where applicable. Our Privacy Policy explains the request process.

8. Duration and deletion

The detailed list in Cookie Settings identifies the technologies actually deployed, their names or identifiers, provider, purpose, category, and configured expiry or storage duration. Cookie Settings is part of this policy's disclosures. Durations can differ between providers, configurations, and features; not all analytics storage expires when you close your browser.

Browser storage duration and provider-side retention are different. Deleting a cookie from your device does not itself delete associated events, recordings, or other personal information held by Viewst or a provider. Our Privacy Policy explains the criteria for retaining that information and the applicable deletion process.

For a verified deletion request, the Privacy Policy provides for immediate removal of eligible content from the live application, deletion or irreversible anonymization of eligible copies in other active systems within 30 calendar days of verification, and backup expiry no later than 90 calendar days after active-system deletion, subject to its stated exceptions and any earlier legal or contractual deadline. We promptly instruct relevant processors and track their responses; independent legal retention duties may affect provider completion. These periods do not describe cookie expiry or guarantee immediate deletion from every provider.

9. Changes

We update this policy when our technologies, purposes, or practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we provide notice or seek fresh consent before new processing. A policy update does not authorize a new optional purpose, enroll anyone in AI training, or replace protections in a signed customer agreement.
